UCA Summer Upgrading Camp 2017
The UCA Summer Upgrading Camp 2017 is a two-week residential academic enrichment camp designed to upgrade maths and English skills among Grade 10 students living in Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan and ensure they are ready for a world-class university education.
Summer Camp curricula are designed by North American educational experts and adapted to fit the needs of Central Asian students, and English is taught by native English speakers.
Camp sessions follow a rigorous schedule combining academics with other learning opportunities. Participants spend four hours studying English and one hour studying maths daily. Participants will receive information and resources to enhance their success with university applications, including sessions on how to apply to university; choose a programme of study based on career interests; and prepare for university entrance requirements. Other activities, including sports, drama, debating and field trips, will provide additional opportunities for participants to practice English-language skills and share experiences with fellow campers.
The Summer Upgrading Camp will be held at UCA’s Campus in Naryn, Kyrgyz Republic.
How do I apply?
To gain admission, you must submit an online application including (1) motivation letter, (2) skill testing questions in English and maths and (3) provide your current school grades. The deadline to apply is 1 May 2017.
Top candidates will be interviewed for the final selection. UCA requires students adhere to a policy of academic honesty when applying.
