The University of Central Asia (UCA), Tekeli campus will be located in the Almaty region, 40 km from the regional capital Taldykorgan, at a site provided by the Kazakh Government.
UCA’s Tekeli Town Campus was officially opened in 2003. The 1186,9 m² facility houses the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) and is equipped with state-of-the-art learning technologies, two computer laboratories, four classrooms and a 17,305 volume library. Through the two learning centres, the School has become a leading provider of adult and continuing education, reaching over 17,200 learners in Kazakhstan.
To prepare its Tekeli campus site for construction, UCA has undertaken extensive grading works totaling 800,000 m2 of soil movement. About 1.6 km of retaining and decorative walling have been constructed to date.
Design works are currently ongoing for the Tekeli campus access road, site drainage and further retaining wall design. Upon completion of these designs, the works will be tendered to local and regional contractors, with a plan to commence the works in 2014. UCA then expects to proceed with detailed campus design and some site preparation works.
