What Does COVID-19 Mean to Each Citizen of Kyrgyzstan?
The University of Central Asia’s Civil Society Initiative (CSI) has launched a project to record the experiences of people in Kyrgyzstan during the COVID pandemic. “COVID: Voices of Kyrgyzstani People” aims to not only record it’s impact on the personal lives of people, but also the important role played by civil society organizations on a scale never seen before. CHHU Public Lecture: The Concept of Cognition in the Teaching of Avicenna

UCA's Cultural Heritage and Humanities Unit is holding a Public Lecture on March 19th 2021, 3:00 PM (Bishkek time, GMT+6) on "The Concept of Cognition in the Teaching of Avicenna" The lecture discusses the epistemological concepts of Abu Ali ibn Sina (980-1037) based on the analysis of his works on practical philosophy, particularly the logical treatises on dialectics, rhetoric, sophistry, and poetics from his famous book Kitab-ul-Shifa. It will be delivered by Sunatullo Jonboboev, Senior Research Fellow at CHHU UCA.

AKHP Cross Debate Format Training and Tournament Registration is Open
The Aga Khan Humanities Project (AKHP) of the University of Central Asia (UCA) regularly conducts trainings and tournaments on the Cross Debate Format (CDF) in Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. AKHP has held regional tournaments by inviting students from these three countries to debate on various social, economic, and cultural issues.

UCA's Cultural Heritage and Humanities Unit is holding a Public Lecture on March 11th 2021, 5:00 pm (Bishkek time, GMT+6) on "Between the Pamirs and the Hindukush: Ancient Wakhan at the Crossroad of History", It will be delivered by Abdulmamad Iloliev, Research Associate, Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS), London. The event will be in English streamed via Zoom and Facebook Live.

Panel Discussion: High-Tech Parks in Eurasia
The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, in collaboration with University of Central Asia (UCA) and StrategEast,  is organising a dedicated panel discussion for different ministries, committees, public and private organizations including representatives of development partners to discuss and explore the Eurasian experience in the creation of High Technology Parks. During the panel discussion, experts from Eurasia will share their experiences on the important factors to be considered while creating a High-Tech Park,  including the required basic infrastructures, competence, technology, and legal framework.

Executive Entrepreneurship Training in the Agribusiness Sector to Promote Partnerships and Facilitate Export Opportunities
The University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) offers a new short-cycle executive entrepreneurship programme, which will create international synergies within four priority industry sectors that will have most powerful potential for growth, to promote increased exports, enhanced revenue streams and job creation. Specifically, this training for advanced entrepreneurs will focus on established business linkages, formal partnerships and the development of joint ventures, with the view to facilitate export promotion, foreign investments, and access to new markets for SMEs in the region.

On 26 February at 3 PM, 2021, the Civil Society Initiative of the University of Central Asia is arranging an online discussion through Facebook Live. The discussions are organised as part of a project: “Increasing access to comprehensive and reliable information on Coronavirus for journalists in Kyrgyzstan", implemented by the Civil Society Initiative and supported by the British Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
