AKHP Public Lecture: Methodological Foundations for Understanding Engineering and Technology
The Aga Khan Humanities Project of the University of Central Asia (AKHP / UCA) is pleased to announce a Public Lecture on Friday, January 29th, 2021, 3:00 PM (KGT, GMT +6) on "Methodological Foundations for Understanding Engineering and Technology" It will be delivered by Professor Kuluipa Alieva, Department of Philosophy at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. The event will be streamed online in Russian through Zoom and Facebook Live.
The AKHP public lectures on the theme of ‘Interdisciplinary Discourse in the Context of Humanities and Scientific Research’ are aimed at enhancing the professional development of education practitioners at higher education institutions in Kyrgyzstan and creating an open platform for discussing the pressing challenges of today’s world, mobilising new ideas, and expanding dialogue between scholars, the intellectual environment, educators and students.
Kuluipa Mukashova Alieva
Professor, Department of Philosophy at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia.
This lecture will explore the philosophical and methodological foundations of the main categories of modern understanding of engineering and technology, and the philosophy of engineering and technology. It will shed light on the basis of cognitive prerequisites for the development of digital thinking as an intellectual tool for systemic theoretical knowledge.
Kuluypa Alieva began her career in 1976 at the Institute of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, part of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1979 to 1986, she studied at the National University of Science and Technology and worked as a research intern, and in 1986 she successfully defended her Candidate dissertation at the Institute of Physics and Chemistry, part of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
From 1994 to 2008, she worked as an associate professor of chemistry in UNESCO’s Department for Environmental Education and Natural Sciences at the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz State University; from 2008 to 2010, she was a professor of chemistry, lecturing on chemical thermodynamics, the kinetics of chemical processes, electrochemistry and chemical technology.
In 2006, Ms Alieva successfully defended her doctoral dissertation titled ‘A philosophical and synergistic study of the problem of complexity in modern scientific understanding’. She subsequently worked at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz State University, and continues to lecture there. Ms Alieva has taken part in 60 scientific forums (in China, Japan, Germany, Turkey, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc.), and in Russian Congresses of Philosophy and Sociology.
